Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers Bring on a Fifth Member of the Band

Scottsdale, Arizona (PRWEB) October 04, 2012

While most music lovers might equate Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers with their most popular lyric ?Here?s to life!? there is another side of the band that is focused on protecting our Earth?s resources and using their influence to encourage stewardship.

These musicians and environmental activists live and ?drive? green. Featured in Green Living?s October issue, Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers sat down with Editor-in-Chief Tishin Donkersley, M.A. and journalist Jeff Hecht to discuss their newly repurposed and renovated eco-friendly tour bus. Touring anywhere from 200-220 days a year, Clyne decided to make the bus more energy-efficient by powering it with solar energy, and using only biodiesel fuel?ultimately reducing their carbon footprint on the road.

The band members now refer to the ?reduce, reuse, recycle? effort as their ?fifth member of the band? and consider practicing sustainability simply ?doing the right thing.? Clyne and the Peacemakers acknowledge that their voice can, and has, affected change around the world.

?These things are important because we?ve got 7 billion people and counting on the planet, and each one of us has an impact,? says Clyne. ?I think it?s important that each one of us take responsibility for what we do.?

?Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers are setting the bar for music industry leaders to go green. Roger?s excitement and energy filled the space as he described each sustainable effort they put forth to protect the Earth.? Donkersley said.

Clyne also discussed their partnership with Reverb.org, an organization that works with music industry leaders, record labels and radio stations to educate and encourage sustainable practices during tours. Among its efforts, the company helps coordinate environmental fan outreach programs, onsite eco-villages and eco-friendly vendors and food services.

The October issue also highlights Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and a features a discussion with Deepak Chopra, M.D., an international expert in the area of mind-body healing, a best-selling author, and the co-founder of the Chopra Center for Wellbeing about cancer, in ?Cancer: A Preventable Disease Is Creating a Revolution.? Also, Paul Mittman, ND, EdD, President of Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine & Health Sciences shares his insights into the explosive growth of naturopathic practices, and the benefits of utilizing natural solutions for health and wellness.
