Rocket21 Youth Songwriting Competition Winner and Rising Country Artist Ansel Brown to Debut Winning Song in a Live Studio Performance on WSM Radio 650AM in Nashvillle

Youth social network Rocket21, where kids connect with world class professionals, announced that Oregon high school student Moranda Rasmussen has been invited to introduce her winning song ?Flying?, in a live studio debut performed by rising Country Music Artist Ansel Brown on Nashville?s WSM Radio at 8:15AM Central Time on Thursday, May 31st.

Rasmussen and Brown will be interviewed by Country Music Disc Jockey Hall of Famer and TV Personality Bill Cody and his producer and co-host Charlie Mattos during their ?Coffee, Country, & Cody? morning show. The interview can be heard on 650AM in Nashville and online by clicking Listen Live at http://www.wsmonline.com. The interview can also be heard on the WSM mobile app, available free for iPhone and other smartphones.

Rasmussen, a junior at Sheldon High School in Eugene, Oregon, was selected by a panel of judges representing the music industry, NASA, and Rocket21, for her original lyrics, titled ?Flying?, which encourages kids to dream big and reach for their goals. Ms. Rasmussen wrote the lyrics for Rocket21?s ?Shoot for the Stars? songwriting competition.

Following the selection of Moranda?s original lyrics, Brown and his manager David Poindexter formed a co-writing partnership with Rasmussen, to finalize the song for recording. Rasmussen, Brown, and Poindexter will be collaborating at the Nashville studio of Emmy winning composer and producer Cliff Downs later this week.

At Ms. Rasmussen?s suggestion, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Shriners Hospitals for Children, where Rasmussen has undergone surgeries and received treatment for cerebral palsy.
