New Collection Celebrates the Many Facets of Love
Cascade Locks, OR (PRWEB) June 27, 2012
In ?The Things I Meant To Say? (published by AuthorHouse) E. Barrett La Mont mines his life experiences to craft inspiring poems on love ? love lost and love found.
?The Things I Meant To Say? is comprised of poems La Mont has written over the past 40 years. La Mont began writing love poems in his early 20's. He is a distant relative of Elizabeth Barrett Browning, and when introduced to her work he became immediately inspired.
Featuring both lyrical and prose poetry, the collection is meant to awaken readers? passion for life. ?It gives several different ways of looking at love,? explains La Mont, ?and several suggestions on how to improve your life.?
The title poem, ?The Things I Meant To Say?:
I meant to say some things today
To talk of cabbages and kings
To tell you about the little boy in me
And the songs I love to sing.
I should have talked about the things I love . . .
The places that I?ve been,
The beauty that I?ve seen in falling leaves . . .
And in sailing with the wind.
I meant to say a lot of things,
But I never found the time . . .
I hoped you?d see these things in me,
And read between the lines.
Now our time has come to say good-bye . . .
To speak of brighter days . . .
To tell you of all the love I felt
And of the things I meant to say.
